Why should we support a new group?
AFSA have been formed as a group to fill an essential gap that currently exist in represented the wishes of Asian members of the service. Many Asian members do not feel they have a effective voice in Brigade or nationally, they also wish make a better contribution on community fire service. Many members also do not have the support networks for mentoring, coaching and generally discussing issue that are related to being of Asian origin. Asian members of the service have also expressed a wish join together with other like minded individuals to raise money for charitable course and this group can do that in a coordinated manner and also pool, experience.
2. What will you do for my service?
AFSA will only do work that is in line with it core objective. The objectives of AFSA are in line with brigade and the service core objective. In a nutshell we will support the service in it objectives to;
- To recruit more Asian members of the community to the service
- To retain and progress AFSA members in the service
- To mentor and Coach AFSA members when required
- To carry out related charity work
3. What evidence do you have that you can deliver?
AFSA have contributed to research FireWorks Report.AFSA have made submission to CLG & Government too many to mention e.g. Select committee, Framework doc, Centre of Excellence.
We are members of the E&D stakeholder group.
We have raised money for Asian Breast Cancer Awareness.
We have taken Fire engines to Pakistan, to Tanzania.
We have held two strategic E&D conferences.
4. What will you do with the money?
We will do all of the above and more with your help. If required we will provide Supporting docs. 2008 AFSA conference
